  • El Brujo joins again the global event MuseumWeek with exclusive and virtual activities

MuseumWeek is a global event that has been celebrated annually since 2014 as part of the Culture for Causes Network's "Nature and Culture" program. Its objective is to encourage the participation of cultural organizations from around the world in order to develop a variety of in-person and online initiatives for a week, following the concept of "7 days, 7 topics, 7 hashtags".

This year, the dates for conducting the MuseumWeek will be from June 3 to 9. And the El Brujo Archaeological Complex joins this celebration. Below, we tell you what online activities we have scheduled for these days. Don't miss them!

On Day 1 of MuseumWeek, under the hashtag #BehindTheScenesMW, we will explore what happens in museums after they close to the public. At the El Brujo Archaeological Complex, we invite you to discover the archaeological conservation work carried out by our team behind the scenes. Immerse yourself in the secrets of our work and join the experience.

Day 2: Discover the Lady of Cao with artificial intelligence

On the second day, marked by #ArtificialIntelligenceMW, we delved into the potential of artificial intelligence in art and culture. Through our social media, we offer you a unique experience to discover the Lady of Cao as you have never imagined her before. Allow yourself to get caught up in the fascinating intersection between technology and our cultural heritage on our Instagram and Facebook pages. Don't miss it!

Day 3: Explore the biodiversity of the CAEB

Under #BiodiversityMW, we will explore the rich biodiversity surrounding the El Brujo Archaeological Complex. This day is especially timely as it coincides with World Environment Day. Join us as we highlight the importance of preserving and appreciating the nature that surrounds us. Discover the beauty and value of our natural environment!

During #NatureSelfieMW, we invite each visitor to take a selfie committed to the protection of nature. Take advantage of your visit to capture special moments next to the magnificent pieces left by the Mochica, where they captured the flora and fauna of their environment. Tag us in your selfies with the hashtag #SelfieNaturalezaMW and we will share your commitment to the protection of species and ecosystems!

Day 5: Admire the marvelous biodiversity of the Valley

On the fifth day, we celebrate nature and advocate for more green spaces in urban settings. We show you incredible panoramic photos of the Valley that surrounds the Archaeological Complex, demonstrating that urbanism and nature can coexist harmoniously. Share your image with the hashtag #UrbanNature and join our cause for a greener and more sustainable urban environment.

Day 6: Let us sound "All the waters" on social media

Celebrate the value of water in our natural and cultural environment. Discover curious facts about how this vital resource influenced the development of the Mochica civilization. We invite you to explore our reel of room 1 "All the waters". Join us by using the hashtag #WaterMW on Instagram and Facebook to highlight the importance of water in our society.

Day 7: Getting to know our culture through local tourism

To close the week, join this initiative by using the hashtag #CoexistMW to highlight the importance of coexisting with our natural and cultural environment and other ways of life. If you are visiting the CAEB, take the opportunity to interact with the community of Magdalena de Cao, explore its handicrafts, gastronomy and the landscapes that beautify the region.

Participate in this event and highlight the love for culture. It is free of charge! And you don't need to leave home to promote the value of our history and the importance of conserving it for future generations. We invite you to participate in our virtual activities throughout the week of June 3 to 9. Don't miss it!
